The successful candidate will work with Prof. Danwei Wang (https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__goo.gl_ujJb9U&d=DwIFAw&c=clK7kQUTWtAVEOVIgvi0NU5BOUHhpN0H8p7CSfnc_gI&r=0w3solp5fswiyWF2RL6rSs8MCeFamFEPafDTOhgTfYI&m=c4NGqNrlY2_0kyLmEUnwnVlCQfny-oIwD8RnfySwTcc&s=hZwsGE3OwLfiBOQ8stjtfSd9hjDr0SrzQ4jc6JUPBJg&e=) and a group of Research Fellows, Research Associates and PhD/Masters students at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.


The successful applicant will be mainly responsible for

  *   Improving existing/Developing new 3D exploration algorithms
  *   Translate novel and existing research outcomes on planning for autonomous 3D mapping to real robot systems (both air and ground)
  *   Leading efforts to make both air and ground robots navigate autonomously in semi-structured/unstructure environments


The applicant must

  *   Have a Ph.D in a related field of research
  *   Have demonstrated research and engineering skills in at least one of the following areas - 3D perception and mapping, Motion planning, Control, Computer Vision for Robotics, AI for robotics
  *   Be comfortable with software development for robotic systems and genuinely excited about validating research results in field experiments using real robotic systems


Preference will be given to applicants with the following additional skills

  *   Extensive C/C++/Python skills
  *   Experience in robotic software development using ROS
  *   Experience with standard open-source robotics related software libraries
  *   Hands on experience with implementing/deploying algorithms on actual robotic systems and conducing field experiments
  *   Good verbal and written communication skills in English


Initial contract is for one year with a possibility of extension based on performance. An attractive remuneration based on the experiences and qualifications and a standard benefit package competitive with the industry will be provided for the successful applicant.
