[robotics-worldwide] [Jobs] Research Fellowship at ISTC-CNR on Development of Software Architectures for Autonomy
Subject: Research Fellowship at ISTC-CNR on Development of Software
Architectures for Autonomy
Applications are invited for a 12-month Research Fellowship (Assegno di
Ricerca) for conducting research in the scope of the “IMPACT -
Intrinsically Motivated Planning Architecture for Curiosity-driven roboTs”
and “Mars-Express Data Planning Tool MEXAR2 Maintenance” projects funded by
the European Space Agency (ESA) at the Institute of Cognitive Sciences and
Technologies, CNR, (ISTC-CNR), Rome, Italy.
The successful applicant will work on the topic "Development of Software
Architectures for Autonomy" through the design and implementation of
prototype software architectures for the control of robotic systems and
complex subsystems operating in space.
The applicant is expected to have a Master's Degree in Computer Science or
Electronic Engineering (or equivalent). A PhD Degree or equivalent in
Computer Science or a related field is not mandatory, but would be a plus.
The ideal candidate is expected to have a background in Artificial
Intelligence, in particular, state-of-the-art AI planning systems and
algorithms, and reinforcement learning algorithms. The candidate should
also have experience in the design, implementation and integration of
complex software systems, as well as some familiarity with systems for
automated planning and robotic simulation.
The research activity should start as soon as possible and will last 12
