[robotics-worldwide] [Jobs] Robotics Faculty Position @ Oregon State University

Adams, Julie Ann-2
Oregon State University’s (OSU) Robotics program invites applications for one or more full-time tenure-track and/or tenured faculty positions to begin Fall 2019. All areas relating to robotics will be considered; however, preference will be given to applicants with research areas that directly develop Artificial Intelligence or Computer Vision capabilities for robotics. As one of the nation’s leading Robotics programs, OSU seeks top-quality candidates who will help us continue to grow (https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__robotics.oregonstate.edu&d=DwIGaQ&c=clK7kQUTWtAVEOVIgvi0NU5BOUHhpN0H8p7CSfnc_gI&r=0w3solp5fswiyWF2RL6rSs8MCeFamFEPafDTOhgTfYI&m=6dwQOrUdwR5xgvobQ4poHxZXPlbqqvgyge0cdKDB3sI&s=PAIIw8XMuNMNXO1hNpsC6XpBa8o89qvcz4fk6_nqqPs&e=).

Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in robotics, mechanical engineering, electrical and computer engineering, computer science, or other robotics-related discipline by the start date of employment, and have a demonstrated record of scholarship.  The successful candidate will have office and laboratory space co-located within the existing Robotics facilities, will have an administrative home most appropriate to their area of expertise within the College of Engineering (e.g., School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science or School of Mechanical, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering), and be a member of the Collaborative Robotics and Intelligent Systems (CoRIS) institute. OSU is a Land/Sea/Space/Sun grant institution, with strong ties to oceanography and the NOAA fleet, a core university member of the FAA ASSURE UAS Center of Excellence, and a host of an FAA UAV test site. Additionally, OSU is a member of four Manufacturing USA Initiatives, demonstrating its commitment to industrial collaborations.

We are an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity employer, and particularly encourage applications from members of historically underrepresented racial/ethnic groups, women, individuals with disabilities, veterans, LGBTQ community members, and others who share our vision of a diverse and an inclusive community. The College of Engineering ranks high nationally in terms of the percentage of women faculty, and the university supports dual-career applications.
