[robotics-worldwide] [jobs]Engineer/Postdoctoral position in artificial perception at the Weizmann Institute of Science
The Weizmann Institute is a leading international research institute in life sciences, math, computer sciences, physics and chemistry.
We, in the lab of Prof. Ehud Ahissar at the Neurobiology department, study Embodied perception by combining theoretical, empirical and synthetic (robotics) research. We are seeking to recruit a talented engineer to join our biomimetic-robotic team (and also, possibly, assist with other ongoing projects in the lab).
The successful candidate will be an engineer (preferably EE), with sufficient background in closed-loop systems, artificial perception, event-based/neuromorphic computing or event-based/neuromorphic sensing. The project will be supervised by Prof. Ehud Ahissar. The initial term of appointment is for two years, with the possibility of renewal based on satisfactory performance and progress. Qualified engineers interested in postdoctoral research position may also apply for the position.
The recruited engineer will be part of a small team assembled to develop a novel artificial perceiver, based on biomimetic mechanisms which incorporate event-based/neuromorphic hardware and software. The project is expected to lead to a novel architecture of artificial perception
Interested applicants should send, in a single email with 'Closed-loop Engineer' in the subject line, to Eldad Assa <[hidden email]>, the following items:
1. Cover letter (<1 page) detailing:
a. A summary of research background and interests
b. Desired start date
2. CV including list of publications (if any) and contact information for 2 references
