Bahar Irfan
**Apologies for double-posting**

This is a reminder for the full-time 5-months internship position available in SoftBank Robotics Europe on conversational agents in human-robot interaction.

About the company:

SoftBank Robotics is driving technology forward by becoming a worldwide leader brand in robotics. The SoftBank Robotics brand name regroups more than 500 employees working in Paris, Tokyo, San Francisco, Boston and Shanghai.

Guided by the SoftBank Group's corporate philosophy, "Information revolution - happiness for everyone," companies under the SoftBank Robotics Holdings umbrella develop humanoid robots and are dedicated to continued research in the field of robotics and related products and services.

SoftBank Robotics Europe (SBRE) is headquartered in Paris and regroups 400 employees. Creator of the robots NAO, Pepper and Romeo, used today in more than 70 countries worldwide, in various fields, such as research, education, retail, healthcare, tourism, hospitality or entertainment.

Brief description of the project:

This project will focus on conversational robots for open-domain dialogue. The aim of the project is personalizing the long-term interaction through a long-term memory. The internship involves preparing and conducting two human-robot interaction (HRI) experiments on the Pepper robot to evaluate the interaction and the memory. The student will be expected to develop an interface through JavaScript and Python to conduct and evaluate dialogue interactions with the robot, based on the state-of-art systems and dialogue corpora.

External modules for face recognition, speech recognition and memory would need to be integrated with the robot for fully embodied and autonomous HRI. The internship requires ability to understand and write scientific articles, and independently conduct real-world experiments. It is a paid full-time internship for 5 months.

This project will be supervised by Bahar Irfan and Alexandre Mazel.
