The Biological Robotics At Tulsa (BRAT) research group, in cooperation with
the Advanced Composite Materials Laboratory at The University of Tulsa is
seeking two Ph.D. graduate research assistants to support activities of a
recently awarded US National Science Foundation Emerging Frontiers in
Research and
Innovation grant. The overarching goal of the project is to make fabric
reinforced inflatable robots capable of completing tasks autonomously in
complex
environments where the robot will make contact with features of the
environment that have not been modeled *a priori. * A project summary is

One student will be advised primarily by Joshua Schultz (dynamics,
kinematics, control), and the other primarily by Michael Keller (solid
mechanics, active and self-healing materials). Applicants should have
completed a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering,
Materials Science, Computer Science, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or a
related field by August of 2020. Graduate assistants will receive full
tuition remission and a stipend for living expenses. Interested students
