The university is conveniently located less than 40 minutes away from the New York City and 20 minutes from one of the largest international airports, the Newark Liberty International Airport.

The ARC lab, directed by Dr. Jingjin Yu, is broadly interested in fundamental and applied research for bringing about the next generation of intelligent autonomous robots. Currently, the lab has a focus on multi-object manipulation and multi-robot collaboration. However, we are generally looking for prospective students, regardless of a particular research topic, who have: (1) the right background, and (2) a strong interest in robotics. In particular, students interested in fundamental research should ideally have the following qualifications:

- Self-driven and devoted to graduate study
- Strong quantitative (e.g., mathematical, algorithmic) reasoning skills
- Good programming skills
- Strong communication and writing skills

Students interested in more applied or mixed fundamental/applied research should ideally have the following qualifications:

- Self-driven and devoted to graduate study
- Excellent programming skills (C++ and Python)
- Robotics programming skills (e.g., ROS) a plus
- Strong communication and writing skills
