Dear All,

The Department of Informatics, Bioengineering, Robotics and Systems
Engineering of University of Genoa, Italy, offers 3 PhD scholarships for
students wishing to conduct cutting-edge research in Robotics.

We are looking for talented, highly motivated and skilled candidates to
work on the following topics:

1/ Approximate methods for active identification
2/ Goal-based cooperation and reasoning models for heterogeneous robot
swarms made up of terrestrial and aerial robots
3/ Sensor-based control of bi-manual robots for human-robot cooperative
4/ Tactile sensing technologies and perception
5/ Culture-aware robots and environmental sensor systems for elderly
6/ Surface and underwater deployment and docking systems for underwater
autonomous vehicles
7/ Robots in the warehouse: methods and technologies for the
next-generation warehouse logistics.
8/ Semi-autonomous defects inspection in shop-floor scenarios via
human-robot cooperation processes.
All topics are offered by the PhD program in Bioengineering and
Robotics, curriculum Robotics and Autonomous Systems. Work to be carried
out will include basic scientific research as well as technology
development for a wide range of applications. Students will be actively
involved in research activities jointly performed in cooperation with
other research institutions worldwide (e.g., in collaborative projects
funded by the European Commission) and important companies in Robotics,
automation and logistics.

** General information **

The PhD scholarship has a duration of three years, and it amounts to
21,859 €/year. PhD students will also have a personal allowance of 1,650
€/year for travels and research expenses.
