[robotics-worldwide] [jobs] PostDoctoral Researcher in whole body compliant control of humanoid robots

Alexander Leonessa
The Assistive Robotics Lab (ARLab) and Terrestrial Robotics Engineering and
Control (TREC) Lab in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Virginia
Tech are looking to jointly hire one postdoctoral researcher in the area of
whole body compliant control of humanoid robots. The labs are working on a
National Science Foundation-funded project on the design of a
self-stabilizing lower body exoskeleton.  Within the project, the
postdoctoral researcher will take a lead role in writing controllers for
the exoskeleton to balance and walk, and implementing them on the robot.

Applicants should have a PhD, and a strong background in whole-body
controllers, simulation environments, and software/hardware
implementation.  International applicants will be considered but should be
fluent in oral and written English.  Also, preference will be given to
applicants that are available to join the team as soon as possible.

Candidates should send an application, consisting of a 1-page motivation
letter and a full CV including publication list to [hidden email]. The
position is open until filled, and applications will be considered as they
arrive.
