[robotics-worldwide] [jobs] Postdoc position in the Robomechanics Lab at CMU on environmental sampling robots
The Robomechanics Lab at CMU has a position available starting immediately
or within the next six months for a postdoctoral researcher interested in
legged locomotion in challenging environments. In particular, we are
staring a new project focused on finding and detecting environmental
contamination in remote locations that will require improvements in
mobility, autonomy, sampling, and machine learning in the field.
The ideal candidate would have experience in field robotics focused on
controls or autonomy. Experience with environmental monitoring or chemical
sensing is a plus. They must show a strong research track record, indicated
by high impact results and publications in top journals and conferences.
The postdoc will be expected to lead a team of graduate and undergraduate
students and work with the sponsor to manage the project in addition to
pushing forward a research agenda. The postdoc may also help mentor
students in the lab working on other projects in addition to the
environmental sampling project.
