[robotics-worldwide] [jobs] Postdoc's in Medical Robotics at Boston Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School
We are seeking highly-motivated researchers for the following projects:
Neurosurgical Robots – This project involves creating MRI-conditional continuum robots incorporating endoscopic imaging and bimanual tool manipulation for procedures inside the ventricles of the brain. Strong design, prototyping and system integration skills are needed. Experience in endoscopic and MR imaging is a plus. The ability to work collaboratively with clinicians is also important. It is expected that the successful candidates will hold a PhD in engineering, physics or computer science.
Airway Stents – This project involves applying principles from the fields of continuum and soft robotics to the design of airway stents that (1) can be easily inserted and removed, (2) promote mucocilliliary transport, and (3) can be custom molded inside the patient’s airway. Strong design, prototyping and analysis skills are needed. Experience with animal experiments is helpful. It is expected that the successful candidates will hold a PhD in engineering, physics or computer science.
Qualified applicants should respond by email as soon as possible to Prof. Pierre Dupont ([hidden email]) with a description of their qualifications, academic background, PhD thesis, publications, career goals and availability. They should specify which position they are interested in and include pdf's of up to 3 publications. Initial appointments will be for one year with the possibility of extension. Postdoctoral appointments will be made through Harvard Medical School.
