We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to undertake research in the industry based project Design Robotics for Advanced Manufacturing. Successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in any of the areas of design research – vision for robotics and automation, learning and adaptive systems, robotic vision, real time vision, vision and action. Women, Indigenous Australians and Torres Straight Islanders are strongly encouraged to apply.
The position of Postdoctoral Research Fellow will undertake research as part of the project, Design Robotics for Advanced Manufacturing. This industry based project is funded through the Innovative Manufacturing Cooperative Research Centre.
Researchers with experience in any of the following areas of design research are strongly encouraged to apply: vision for robotics and automation, learning and adaptive systems, robust vision, real time vision, vision and action.
This Postdoctoral Research Fellow will explore how design robotics will inform the advancement of design-led manufacturing. The research will involve participatory design methods to explore how emerging robotic technologies (e.g. robotic arm, robotic vision, digital fabrication, software interfaces) offer a new suite of capabilities within design-led manufacturing operations of the industry partner, Urban Art Projects (UAP). UAP is a world leading supplier of products and manufacturing services into the global market for iconic architecture, design and art projects.
