Position Title: Research Assistant (paid research position) in a medical robotics laboratory at Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shatin, New Territories, Hong Kong

We are looking for one research assistant to help set up and contribute to research in a medical robotics laboratory, which focuses on medical technology development, image-guided surgical robotics, flexible robots and exploratory projects of artificial intelligence in the medical domain. Depending on the research performance, the successful candidate could potentially be an eligible PhD student at CUHK upon the end of the 1-year contract.

Applicants should (i) have a Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related engineering discipline; (ii) demonstrate effective written and spoken English. (iii) Hands-on experience in mechanical design, system modeling, robot control and programming, motion planning, and machine learning would be strong advantage. (iv) Master’s degree is preferred.

Appointee will join the medical robotics lab led by Prof. Shing Shin Cheng, Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering, CUHK. Official offer will be made on a contract basis in September 2018, renewable subject to mutual agreement. Appointment processing time is 4 weeks for locals and 3 months for non-locals.
