The Imaging Robotics team of Siemens Healthcare Technology Center has two
internship openings to be filled immediately in Princeton, NJ. We create and
deliver medical devices crucial for patient care. You will be encouraged to
think out-of-the-box, innovate and find solutions to real-life problems. You
will be able to witness your algorithms being used at hospitals worldwide.
Our team has a strong publication record in leading journals and
conferences. We are located ten minutes from the Princeton University
campus, one hour from New York City and Philadelphia.

*Position 1: Tracking and Sensor Fusion Intern (Spring, 2019)*
You will work closely with research scientists toward:
*  Research, design and implement tracking and sensor fusion algorithms for
Medical Imaging applications
*  Fast prototyping, feasibility studies, specification and implementation
of components, including but not limited to medical image and signal
analysis, real-time systems, low-level components, and software and hardware
* Advance the state-of-the-art, with the opportunity to generate patents and
top publications
* Work on large-scale, real-world problems, be entrepreneurial in an
environment that’s more startup than a big company

*Position 2: Computational Modeling Intern: Soft Robotics Application
(Spring/Summer, 2019)*
Perform research, develop, implement and evaluate methods/algorithms in one
or more of the following fields:
* Model/model-less based control of continuum soft robots
* Physics engine (e.g., SOFA) based modeling/control of soft robots
* Safe control of the interaction with vascular environments
* Control the stability, variable stiffness control, data-driven approach
for robot control
* Advance the state-of-the-art, with the opportunity to generate patents and
top publications

*Preferred qualifications:*
* Graduate-level student in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering,
Computer Science, Robotics, or related field
* Hands-on coding skills and ability to quickly prototype in C++ and/or
Python is required.
* Experience in ROS and/or SOFA is a plus
* Knowledge in medical image and signal analysis is a plus
* Proven experience with Deep Learning is a plus
* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English are
* Excellent interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude, who is willing to
accept challenges and responsibilities
* Motivation to initiate and accomplish ambitious research agenda
