Job Description and Responsibilities
The Robotics & Automation department of Schlumberger-Doll Research center is conducting applied research and evaluation of cutting-edge technology for the advancement of automation in oilfield operations. We are seeking a research program manager experienced in marine robotics to lead a multidisciplinary team of talented scientists working on innovative solutions for Schlumberger OneSubsea (https://cameron.slb.com/onesubsea) and WesternGeco (http://www.slb.com/services/seismic/marine.aspx) operations. The program manager will closely collaborate with business and product development units to define architectural and functional requirements. He/She will lead the research team to design, develop, simulate and test research prototypes in real-world customer applications. The program manager will be expected to initiate and supervise the collaborations with academic research institutions and Schlumberger industry partners. He/She will actively participate in Schlumberger’s venture capital activity in the space of marine robotics.
• PhD degree in Ocean Engineering, Robotics or Computer Science with research emphasis on underwater autonomous systems
• Deep expertise in command and control of marine vehicles (AUV, ROV, ASV)
• Proficiency writing code in ROS, MOOS, C++ and Python
• Experience in SLAM, sonar, LiDAR, optical and chemical sensing
• 5+ Years of technical leadership in a team experienced in open-water trials
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
• Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship
