The Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering at the University of
Toronto invites applications for one full-time, tenure-stream faculty
position in the area of Robotics at the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full
Professor, starting July 1, 2019.

Candidates must have a PhD in mechanical engineering, electrical
engineering, computer engineering, or a related discipline. Candidates will
have an established international reputation in fundamentals or systems or
applications of robotics. The candidate is expected to sustain and lead
outstanding, innovative, and independent research and to maintain a
competitive, externally funded, and internationally leading research
program. We are seeking candidates with the demonstrated ability to
strengthen the capacity of research and teaching of

The successful candidate must provide evidence of excellence in research
through an established international reputation, as demonstrated by
leadership in the academic community, editorships, research output, awards
and accolades. Excellence in research will be evidenced primarily by
sustained contributions and the quality of publications in top-ranked and
field relevant journals, the submitted research statement, strong letters of
reference from referees of high international standing, and noteworthy
activities that contribute to the visibility and prominence of the

teaching philosophy, sample course syllabi, excellent teaching evaluations,
strong endorsements from referees, and the teaching dossier submitted as
part of the application.
