Our program curriculum is designed to build understanding and expertise in robotics design, modeling, control systems, autonomous vehicle planning and perception, machine learning, and human-robot interaction. With a range of technical electives, students are able to tailor their coursework towards their area of interest in robotics including artificial intelligence, computer vision and perception, space and planetary robotics, robot kinematics and dynamics, control, networked robotic systems, robotics at micro and Nano scale, and rehabilitation robotics.
We seek applicants who will create a climate that embraces excellence and diversity, with a strong commitment to teaching, hands-on learning, mentoring and active engagement with the students. The ideal candidate will incorporate creative approaches to teaching that enhance the student learning experience, help assist students in the use of lab equipment, as well as be committed to advising and service. Courses are taught in on-campus and remote site formats, and may be expanded to online in the future. Courses generally take place between 4:00-10:00pm.
The successful candidate must have a PhD in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field, and classroom teaching experience with proven excellence designing and teaching a variety of robotics-related courses. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate interest in and potential for outstanding teaching and ability to innovate and adopt various teaching methods in the classroom and labs.
As per current guidelines, lecturers are appointed to a 1-year term, with the intention of renewal with demonstrated successful performance. Applications from members of groups traditionally underrepresented on engineering faculties are encouraged to apply. Review of applications will continue until the position is filled.
