[robotics-worldwide] [jobs] Seeking distinguished researchers for leading Research Professorship in Western Australia

Jonathan Paxman

Western Australia is at the heart of a boom in robotics and automation, impacting on the $100 billion resources sector, as well as agriculture, security, defence, medicine and disability. Academic expertise in robotics is increasingly in demand for collaborative research projects as well as in training the next generation of mechatronics, robotics and automation engineers.

Curtin University is seeking outstanding research leaders in robotics and automation to spearhead an application to the Premier's Science Fellowship (a Professorial appointment). The Premier's Science Fellowship is one of Australia's most prestigious research fellowships, with minimum funding of AUD$2 million over four years for the Premier's Fellow, and $1 million over four years for the affiliated Premier's Early-Mid-Career Fellow.

Suitable candidates will be distinguished researchers with an outstanding track record of publications, and a proven capacity to successfully run major research projects in collaboration with other academics and with industry. Applicants must be within the disciplines of Automation; Robotics; Artificial Intelligence and/or Machine Learning. Of particular interest will be candidates with a capacity to engage in robotics projects in mining/resources, agriculture and/or the medical sciences.

Expressions of Interest for either the Premier's Science Fellowship or the Premier's EMC Fellowship can be sent to Associate Professor Jonathan Paxman [hidden email]<mailto:[hidden email]> in the first instance. Early enquiries would be welcomed.
