[robotics-worldwide] [jobs] Tenure-track Assistant Professor Position at Yale University

Aaron Dollar
This position is very relevant to the Robotics Community at large. It leans
more computational (specific mechanical engineering background not
required), but hands-on/experimental work is strongly valued. No specific
preference for sub-field.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science at Yale
University invites applications for a non-tenured, tenure-track faculty
position. Candidates should strengthen the department's research activities
in the field of mechatronics and robotics with a special focus on
interfacing with artificial intelligence, machine learning, and/or
mathematical modeling of mechanical systems. Subfields of interest include,
e.g., medical robotics and devices, mechanisms and design, human-machine
interaction and haptics, or dynamic systems and controls.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline, and an outstanding
record of research that demonstrates originality in addressing significant
questions in the field. We expect the successful candidate to establish a
dynamic research group, be an interactive member of the faculty, participate
in interdisciplinary research and training, and excel in regular graduate
and undergraduate teaching of the mechanical engineering curriculum.
Applicants should create a profile at https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__apply.interfolio.com_70504&d=DwICAg&c=clK7kQUTWtAVEOVIgvi0NU5BOUHhpN0H8p7CSfnc_gI&r=0w3solp5fswiyWF2RL6rSs8MCeFamFEPafDTOhgTfYI&m=0eSPIqYcQghuw_ncdkJa7mMs4UrA-q6TjzmdF7uMquU&s=2sTq1tkAkyini3gXEFIOHFPQm7T8P7IpZvxW9AcKB7E&e=  and
upload a statement of research plans, teaching plans (including a list of
courses that they are qualified to teach), curriculum vitae, and up to three
reprints of published work(s). Applicants should also arrange for three
references to upload their letters of recommendation. For further
information, contact Mary MacNicholl at  <mailto:[hidden email]>
[hidden email] or P.O. Box 208284, New Haven, CT 06520-8284. The
review of applications will begin on December 10, 2019 and continue until
the position has been filled. Yale University is an affirmative action,
equal opportunity employer. Yale values diversity among its faculty,
students, and staff and strongly encourages applications from women, members
of minority groups, protected veterans, and persons with disabilities.
