Two PhD scholarships are available to work on co-operative control of heterogeneous autonomous vehicles including 4 hexa-copters and 2 - 3 large scale autonomous vehicles. The aim is to develop aerial surveillance based systems suitable for unmanned forest fire fighting systems. The research includes, threat prediction, terrain sensing and assessment, planning for ground vehicle routing and optimised resource utilisation. The PhD studies need to be carried out at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia and will be associated with the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering and the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications.
The Scholarships include:
(i) Tuition Fee Waiver
(ii). A$ 40000/annum stipend.
(iii). A$10000/annum career development expenses (e.g. conference attendance, publications costs, external courses)
