AIM & SCOPE:

The aim of this workshop is to bring together researchers to discuss current and future challenges of advanced/intelligent sensor-based perception systems for Human-Robot Interaction and share their experience in this research topic, in particular:

- Machine Learning and intelligent algorithms for perception and recognition systems within the context of HRI.

- Multimodal sensor datasets (Mono and Stereo Vision, RGB-D, IMU, LiDAR) and evaluation metrics.


TOPICS:

The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:


1. Machine learning and intelligent algorithms applied to perception systems

2. Obstacle/object detection, tracking, and recognition

3. Semantic, situation awareness, context-based perception

4. Cooperative perception

5. Multimodal sensor datasets (Mono, Stereo, RGB-D, Thermal, IMU, LiDAR)

6. Benchmarking HRI in robotic applications

7. Performance indicators for HRI

8. HRI metrics (including teams)

9. Activity and action recognition

10. Social activity recognition

11. Affective computing

12. Human behaviour analysis



SUBMISSION INFORMATION:

Prospective participants are welcome to submit either full papers ( 6 pages ) or extended abstracts ( 4 pages ) in the conference format (IEEE standard). The ARMADA'18 Workshop welcomes contributions reporting on original research, work under development and experiments of different fields related to machine learning and perception systems for human-robot interaction scenarios. We strongly encourage authors to make their datasets available to the community. In order to stimulate and facilitate the comparison of different algorithms, evaluation scripts and ground truth are also welcome.


Please submit your manuscript (PDF) to [ mailto:[hidden email] | [hidden email] ] with the subject “ARMADA paper submission”. Each paper will receive a minimum of two reviewers.


Accepted papers require that, at least one of the authors to register and attend the workshop.
