OVERVIEW

We are excited to invite you to participate in the workshop "Spatial-Semantic Representations in Robotics" at Robotics: Science and Systems 2017. This workshop brings together a multidisciplinary group of researchers working at the intersection of robotics, computer vision, simultaneous localization and mapping, and learning. The program consists of three invited talks, thirteen contributed papers (five long talks and eight short talks / posters), and a panel discussion to provide an atmosphere for discourse on recent progress towards and challenges to environment representation learning.  The detailed technical program is available on the workshop website listed above.

TOPICS

Topics include, but are not limited to:

Robot knowledge representations
Spatial-semantic mapping
Semantic perception
Spatial-semantic representations for planning
Spatial language modeling and interpretation
Common datasets for training and benchmarking

INVITED TALKS

Dieter Fox (University of Washington)
John Leonard (Massachusetts Institute of Technology)
Michael Milford (Queensland University of Technology)

ORGANIZERS

Thomas M. Howard  (University of Rochester)
Matthew R. Walter  (Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago)
