[robotics-worldwide] [meetings] Call for participation 2018 ICRA - Robotics in Education Forum

Paolo Fiorini
2018 ICRA - Robotics in Education Forum - Friday, 25th May 2018

Call for Participation

ICRA is the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society’s flagship conference and the premier international
forum for robotics researchers to present and discuss their work. The 2018 conference will be held
from May 21 to May 25, 2018 at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre in Brisbane, Australia.
The conference will include plenary, keynote and award nominee presentations, contributed paper
interactive sessions, workshops, tutorials, forums, robotics exhibition, and challenges.

Education Forum
At the 2018 Conference, there will be a forum devoted to Robotics in Education (Primary/Secondary).
Science, Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) is widely recognised as vital skills that all job
seekers will need in the near future, and Robotics as part of the curriculum is well suited to cover
all these disciplines in a thorough and engaging manner.

The Education Forum Chairs are seeking expressions of interest from people and/or organisations
looking to showcase the work / research they have been undertaking in the field.

Topics for presentation should broadly fall into one or more of the following categories
Robotics in Education - Primary
Robotics in Education - Secondary
Robotics in Education - Competitions / Challenges
Robotics in Education - Hardware / Software

During the forum we envision that there will be a single track of presentations, complemented by a
large demonstration area where some of the more popular international competitions / challenges will
be able to showcase their approach to Robotics in Education.

Participants will include robotics researchers, university academics, government departments,
primary and secondary teachers and pre-service teachers.

Speaking slots of 20 minutes are available and interested speakers should forward a presentation
proposal (300 word maximum) and speaker biography (300 work maximum) to the Forum selection committee.

Please submit your proposal to
