AIM & SCOPE
============
The aim of this workshop is to bring together researchers and scientists, from academia and industry, to discuss and share she/he experience and knowledge in current and future challenges of intelligent (AI/ML) based sensory systems for human-robot interaction (HRI) and artificial perception.

The main research areas to be considered are:
* Machine learning, AI-based and intelligent algorithms for artificial perception and recognition systems within the context of HRI.
* Multimodal sensor datasets (Mono and Stereo Vision, RGB-D, IMU, laser/Lidar) and evaluation metrics.


TOPICS
=======
The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
1. Artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms for HRI
2. ML and intelligent (AI) algorithms applied to perception systems
3. ML and perception for assistive robotics; robotic walker; robotic head
4. Context-based perception for HRI
5. Environment perception and/or scene understanding
6. Cooperative perception
7. Multimodal sensor datasets:
    Mono, Stereo and Thermal cameras, RGB-D, MoCap, IMU, LRF, etc.
8. Benchmarking HRI in robotic applications
9. HRI metrics (including teams)
10. Activity and action recognition
11. Social activity recognition
12. Affective computing
13. Human behaviour analysis

SUBMISSION INFORMATION
=======================
Prospective participants are welcome to submit either full papers (6 pages) or extended abstracts (4 pages) in the conference format (IEEE standard). The ARMADA’17 Workshop welcomes contributions reporting on original research, work under development and experiments of different fields related to machine learning and perception systems for human-robot interaction scenarios.

Please submit your manuscript (PDF) to [hidden email]<mailto:[hidden email]> with the subject “ARMADA paper submission”.  Each paper will receive a minimum of two reviews.

Accepted papers require that, at least, one of the authors to register and attend the Workshop.


SPECIAL ISSUE: JOURNAL OF BEHAVIORAL ROBOTICS (Paladyn)
=====================================================
The organisers will invite selected papers from the Workshop to submit to the Journal of Behavioral Robotics. The authors will be requested to submit their full revised version of papers (extended version) to this special issue complying the general scope of the journal. The submitted papers will undergo peer review process before they can be accepted. The deadline for submission for this Special Issue is October 22nd, 2017.
