Autonomous Drone Racing (ADR) 2018
In Conjunction with IEEE/RSJ IROS 2018
October 1-4, 2018  Madrid, Spain


We are pleased to announce that the 3rd Autonomous Drone Racing (ADR) that
will be held in conjunction with the IEEE/RSJ IROS 2018 Madrid.

The ADR is a racing competition where participants do computer programming
in a single onboard aerial robot, also known as a drone, to recognize and
autonomously navigate different types of gate obstacles installed indoor
environment. Participants are allowed to use any drone (fixed wing or
quadrotor) with a combination of any sensors such as vision (visible/IR),
laser, Lidar, and ultrasound as long as they are installed within the body
of the drone.

With regards to the diversity program of the IROS 2018, ADR participants
will have a chance to attend Vision-based Agile Autonomous Navigation of
UAVs workshop during the IROS conference as well as they will be invited to
writing a competition report after the competition. The following is a
tentative schedule and deadlines for the ADR 2018.

Tentative ADR 2018 Schedule
Orientation: October 1, 2018
Dry-run: October 2, 2018
Main event: October 3, 2018
Award luncheon: October 4, 2018 (Tentative)
Demonstration to public: October 4, 2018 (Tentative)
(The schedule is subject to change and will be posted on the ADR competition
homepage as well as informed by the registered email.)

Important Dates
Registration by March 15, 2018
Travel grant application by June 1, 2018
Notification to travel grant recipients by June 30, 2018
Team profile submission by September 1, 2018
