[robotics-worldwide] [meetings] Last Call for Assistive Technologies for Precision Neurosurgery: Current Successes and Future Challenges.

Secoli, Riccardo
Dear All,
The deadline for contributions of the workshop: "Assistive Technologies for Precision Neurosurgery: Current Successes and Future Challenges." Is now 17th August 2018.
This workshop aims to survey the most promising technological breakthroughs arising from the last decades' worth of scientific and clinical innovation, to ascertain the current neurosurgical landscape and identify existing open challenges and possible ways to address them with robotics.
Invited speakers represent academic, clinical and commercial entities, which are at the forefront of neurosurgery today, covering tool sensorization, new brain models and modelling approaches, new mechanisms and new clinical applications that may improve the quality of life of patients.

Confirmed speakers:

  *   Prof. Cameron Riviere (Carnegie Mellon University - USA)
  *   Prof. Jaydev P. Desai (Georgia Tech Institute - USA)
  *   Prof. Nassir Navab (Technische Universität München - DE)
  *   Prof. Ferdinando Rodriguez y Baena (Imperial College London - UK)
  *   Prof. Arya Nabavi (The International Neuroscience Institute Hannover - DE)
  *   Prof. Lorenzo Bello (Humanitas Research Hospital - ITALY)
  *   Prof. Misra Sarthak (University of Twente - NL)
  *   Prof. Ron Alterovitz (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill - USA)
  *   Dr. Daniel Caleb Rucker (University of Tennessee - USA)
  *   Dr. Ren Hongliang (National University of Singapore - SG)
  *   Medtronic - USA
  *   Brainlab - DE
  *   Renishaw - UK
  *   Advance Osteotomy Tools (AOT) - CH
The full-day workshop will be held on the 1st October 2018 during the IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2018) in Madrid, Spain. (Room TBD).
